Scammers and spammers have deluged the new Ping musical social network, created by Apple and built into the new version of iTunes. Unfortunately Ping is being over-run by scams and spam messages, some of which try and direct users into believing they will receive a free iPhone if they complete online surveys.

Google Code's project hosting feature has occasionally been used by malicious individuals for storing and spreading malware. Even though Google claims that any project including malicious files will be taken down, it takes the Google Code team a rather long time to detect them by scanning the hosted content.

Cyber crooks steal nearly $1 million from University of Virginia

A theft of nearly $1 million from bank accounts of the University of VirginiaÕs College at Wise is being investigated by the FBI. While the agency - as per their official policy - does not confirm or deny that such an investigation is underway, the college's media relations director refused to divulge any details.
